Google Apps Updates
Over the next few weeks, Google will be releasing important updates to Google Docs for all Google Apps customers. These updates are incremental and will not require you to retrain your users.
● Starting on June 16th, 2010, Google will introduce new sharing settings in Google Docs, designed to make sharing easier and to give your users more control over their files. Now your users will be able to assign a sharing setting to a file in just one step and see at-a-glance how each document is shared. To learn more, please visit the help center at http://goo.gl/I8Jp.
● Starting on June 21st, 2010, Google will begin activating the new Google documents editor for all users. This new editor offers character-by-character real-time collaboration, better document import fidelity, and many new features like built-in chat with co-editors. ● Starting on June 30th, 2010, Google will begin activating the new Google spreadsheets editor for all users. This new editor offers many new features like an editable formula bar, cell auto-complete and faster performance. To learn more, please visit the help center at http://goo.gl/Qgze.
Bring Google Fiber to St. Louis
The City of St. Louis has begun it’s bid for Google Fiber!
Google is planning to build ultra-high speed broadband networks in a small number of trial locations across the country. The plan is to deploy 1 Gbps, fiber optic connections directly to people’s homes. This connection would be over 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today. (via)

Google is planning to launch an experiment that we hope will make Internet access better and faster for everyone. We plan to test ultra-high speed broadband networks in one or more trial locations across the country. Our networks will deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today, over 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. We’ll offer service at a competitive price to at least 50,000 and potentially up to 500,000 people.
From now until March 26th, we’re asking interested municipalities to provide us with information about their communities through a Request for information (RFI), which we’ll use to determine where to build our network.

Kyvon Customer Control Panel Upgrade Details
Last week, Kyvon moved to a new billing and customer management system to provide improved access for customers to their Kyvon account and billing information. In addition to billing changes, we added new features for our web hosting customers. Please view a list of changes, below.
- WordPress one-click installation is now available through our new control panel.
- Customers should use the main account contact’s email address (example: customer@kyvon.com) to login to their account. If you do not know your password select Forgot Password below the login fields and you will be sent a new password.
- Customers will receive an invoice for Kyvon services via email five days prior to the due date.
- For customers that pay via the automatic monthly credit card draft, payments will be processed one day prior to the due date of the monthly invoice. Customers will receive an automatically generated receipt for these payments via email once it is processed.
